Counting Down to St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago

stpats1St. Patrick’s Day may well be one of the most-celebrated holidays in Chicago….mostly because the folks here just can’t resist throwing back a few pints of green beer! Whether you plan on coming to Chicago to join in the fun or heading to another city to see how they celebrate, it’s not to early to stay thinking about planning your St. Patrick’s day trips.

In Chicago, the dyeing of the Chicago River takes place at 10:45am on Saturday, March 13, followed by the downtown parade at noon. Of course, before, during, and after, there will be plenty of pints of Guinness and plates of corned beef and cabbage consumed.

Thinking about heading to the homeland for St. Patrick’s Day this year? You can still find some cheap, last-minute deals for hotels in Dublin, and since the winter off-season in Ireland tends to be rainy and grey, you can often find cheap tickets to Dublin at this time of year, even around the holiday.
